Can Yannick Vrielink hold his lead?

During the well-attended rally, which took place in summery conditions in the Hellendoorn and Markelo region, not only Verstappen and Ten Brinke were at the top of the field, but other teams were also fighting hard for their place in the standings. The fight for the Open Dutch Rally Championship (ONRK) was particularly exciting. The young Yannick Vrielink (Ford), who was leading by two points, was unlucky with a leaking radiator on Friday evening and seemed to have lost his chance for the title. Kevin van Deijne (Hyundai), his closest rival, seemed to take advantage of this, but on Saturday the tables turned. Van Deijne lost minutes due to a flat tire and a bent steering rod, which eventually forced him to retire. Vrielink finished the rally victorious.

Winner Jos Verstappen Hellendoorn Rally

Saturday’s Eurol Hellendoorn Historic Rally powered by Vredestein saw 40 competitors thrill the crowds with their iconic rally cars. However, Antoine Biesheuvel, the favorite for the win, lost ground due to a spin, leaving Irishman Eamon Kelly (BMW M3) to take the win in this historic class.

The ACTRONICS Driver of the Day award was deservedly won by Jos Verstappen, who received the most votes from the public. In the Historics class, Antoine Biesheuvel won the award.

Despite a number of crashes, the rally passed off without any serious personal accidents.
