Motorsport photography
Motor sports include all sports performed on a two- or three-wheeled motorized vehicle. Motorsports is the collective term for any competition involving a motorized vehicle with four or more wheels.
Sports cars – divided into purpose-built prototypes and road car-based GTs – are cars specially built or modified for racing. They can be open or closed and can carry one or two people. The main difference from formula cars is that the wheels are covered by the body. Competitions for sports cars are often endurance races (6h, 12h, 24h, or 1000 km) with two, three, or more drivers taking turns at the wheel.
Touring cars (from the Italian Turismo) are racing cars based on an existing car type that can be freely sold and driven on public roads. Depending on the class in which a touring car competes, many or few modifications are allowed to the mechanical components (engine, suspension, gearbox, brakes, tires, etc.).
